Steven's Garden is a collaborative project from the “FEDERAL FUNKY” collection, initiated by Otis Verhamme, Lionel Virgile, and Louis Oudart. This project pays tribute to Steven “A$AP YAMS” Rodriguez, an iconic figure of the New York hip-hop group A$AP Mob. Inspired by his story, his collective, his city, and his legacy. Today marks the 10th anniversary of his passing, and we gather to honor his memory.
Our goal was to create a unique universe by blending graphic design, fashion, photography, and spatial design. By merging our respective disciplines, we envisioned a project that reflects the identity of New York and the spirit of A$AP YAMS.
The immersive installation represents the city of New York. This staging brings together all the elements of Steven's Garden to immerse the viewer in a dreamlike universe. It features iconic buildings of the city, such as the towers of New York's projects onto which images appear to be projected. This set design revolves around painting, visual arts, videography, photography, and fashion design. The core piece of Steven’s Garden is a double jacket that highlights A$AP YAMS through his universe and origins.
This project was conceived several months ago and created by our hands in Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium. Creative Direction by Louis Oudart, Lionel Virgile and Otis Verhamme. January 18 2025.
